Friday and the last Friday before Christmas YET

OK, I've been in Thompson for a while and 4 cars together is a traffic jam up there, but the traffic here today was unreal. Erica reminded me that if I was in Dallas or even Kansas City, this traffic would seem tame, but I'm sure every person from the surrounding area was in Winnipeg today.

I went to the mall and shopped in two stores and it took up most of the afternoon. I am enjoying the children. I hope to see Dwight's tomorrow. Tonight I need a good long sleep.

Crazy week

It's been a busy week but last week was a CRAZY week. I think the planets were out of orbit or something. Everyone was grumpy and pissed off about something or other. I felt like a fire engine putting out fires before they spread. (maybe I can't say P#**ed on a church blog) You can errase it Yvonne if you want.

Rebecca, my address in #16- 122 Wolf St. I live in the middle of no-where so it really doesn't matter if someone knows. My daughters introduced me to Canada 411. This is almost as exciting as when I found the Google map and could find the apartment block I live in on the pictures from space.

Two more sleeps and I go south. Yeah!! Here I come grandbabies!!

In a days work

This morning I had a bunch of things to deal with including:

  • Christmas party - how many people would be here. We need to borrow tables and chairs
  • Did the parking lot get cleared
  • Time sheets need to go south to head office
  • Petty cash is out of wack - where are the receipts??
  • Somebody's sick time - do they have enough time to cover 2 days off
  • Someone is coming to do a volunteer shift -What was her name again?

In the middle of answering these questions, I phoned the south to ask a question from our payroll officer. The conversation went like this "Hi Sandee, Hmmm I have no idea why I called you but I needed an answer to a very important question that I couldn't figure out myself...........give me a second to think over my morning (nervous laughter) Oh yes, I needed to know if.............." This is NOT good! Thank goodness I remembered before I looked like a a complete idiot!! I USED to be a multitask Queen; nowI'm a multitask Joker! Like the admin assistant here tells me I need to write it all down. A lesson I may learn tomorrow.

Zeal and Prudence

These are quotes from St. Mary Euphasia who founded the Sisters of the Good Shepherd where I work:

"Zeal (enthusiastic diligence, ardor, determination to make a difference) does not consist in speaking well, in preaching, in giving good advice, in continually counseling, but rather in GIVING A GOOD EXAMPLE. Example makes a much deeper impression than words."

"Be prudent (sensible, attentive, observant): Do not commmit imprudent acts under the appearance of good. A lack of prudence can lead us into unpardonable STUPIDITY"

Slump

It is difficult to pull out of a December slump. It is very very cold and everything in me wants to hibernate until spring. The sun is up around 8:15 and down around 4:15 so my work day takes up the sunshine. I am feeling blaaah about life. Tell me somethings that could brighten my weary heart.
