Definition

My sister (the English teacher) asked me to define mercy so this is from the thesaurus:
Kindness, benevolence, benignancey, blessing, boon, charity, clemancy, compassion, favor, forbearance, forgiveness, generosity, gentleness, mildness, pity, relief, sorft-heartedness, sympathy, tenderness, tolerance. Now how do I love mercy???

Back in Thompson

Well I'm back in the north. It really seemed like a short visit even though I was there for 6 days. Good to see my family. Art is coming up next weekend.
Here we need some casual staff really badly. Pray that we would get the right combination of people. My friend Sharon Daniels needs to have a kidney removed. Pray for her swift recovery and no additional cancer. I need a fresh annointing for this job!!

love mercy

For the last few days the old song about "What does the Lord require of you (Micah 6:8)" has been running through my mind. The phrase "love mercy" is the part that has been making me stop and think. We may be able to EXTEND mercy but that is not the same thing as LOVING mercy. When I love something or someone, nothing is to much to ask. I'll pour my heart and soul and strength and mind into someone that I love. How can I love mercy to that extent. I know it takes God to love. But what would loving MERCY actually look like?? I'm just ASKING and PONDERING the question. Like I said, I've been thinking on this for only a few days ........ any comments??

5 more sleeps

When the kids were small, we'd say "We are doing this in [so many] sleeps". Well I'll be home in 5 more sleeps!! Yeah for a medical appointment!! I'm coming on the BUS (how common is that Rebecca) but I don't care. I get a free ride south. So I can use my land-line phone and call whoever I want!! See some of you soon!!

DJ is in Thompson

It was nice to see family and have supper with DJ last night. Art phoned later and I said I was with DJ earlier. He was confused by this but finally remembered that DJ did SAY he was coming up here. DJ was anticipating people HUGGING their garbage cans today as he is supposed to take out the old cans and give them NEW ones. He said people are very attached to their old garbage containers when fear of change happens. Isn't that just human nature. We hang on to the familiar and reject change. Anyway I hope to see DJ again tonight. I've got some VALENTINE treats for the grandbabies.

Snow Powder

Most mornings here there is a "dusting" of snow. The first morning that I brushed it off my car, I thought 'this is as fine as icing sugar!'. The snow dust goes right thought any cracks where the door isn't quite sealed shut. One morning I came out and the window was down a smigg and the seat inside the car was covered in white powder. It stick to the window and must be brushed off but it is oh so fine. Baby powder fine ....baking powder fine .... get the picture. I HAVE seen a few snow flakes but mostly snow dust. I don't remember this from the first time we lived up here. Is this new???

Friday.........a Day for change

My big boss was up here from Winnipeg. He offered me another position working as a Supervisor here. Before this was a Program Manager position working over 3 different groups but they want to change it to a supervisors job just over the group home for a period of 6 months until they figure out what they want to do with the bigger Thompson area. I am happy with this decision as it is more responsibility than I HAD but LESS than the whole load that was here before. It has been a VERY BUSY day as we had kids home from school while a bunch of adult issuses had to be dealt with. Anxiety always RISES when adults get together as kids are SURE it is all about them. I'm going home now!!
